The monument to the Valiant Officer of the Native Land is installed in Commissar Moskovsky Street in Tambov near the post control of the electronic warfare training center. The idea to create this monument came up a while ago. Initially it was supposed to be the monument to the Russian Officer but later it was decided to remove the word “Russian” and add the words “of the Native Land” to honor Soviet officers as well.
The monument consists of vertical granite columns with the names of 15 Tambov military schools of different epochs engraved on them. Besides, it is decorated with art castings depicting officers of the Russian and Soviet armies as well as the bas-relief of Commissar Alexander Moskovsky, the Hero of the Soviet Union, whose name was given to the street where the memorial is located.
The author of the monument is sculptor and architect Alexander Kulikov.
